Every game here plays on one shared screen, with the whole class in teams. Students don't need phones or laptops: they think, talk with their team and answer out loud, and you run the game from your phone. Each game takes the same question set, so you can make the questions once and play a different game every lesson.

Pick a game to see how it plays, its rules and scoring, what you can teach with it, and how to run a paper version when the screen is off.

## How every game works

1. **Make or pick a question set.** Snap the textbook page you teach today, paste a word list, type a topic, or type your own questions. Oly writes the questions and adds pictures and pronunciation; you can change anything. Or start from the [free library](https://olyclass.com/library/) of ready-made games.
2. **Pick a game and your teams.** 2 to 4 teams on the Free plan, up to 8 with Oly Pro. Give teams names or keep the colors.
3. **Play on the big screen.** Scan the QR code with your phone: it shows the answer and gives you Correct, Not yet, Show answer and Next. A right answer earns the team its move in the game (a tile, a spin, a shot, a disc). A wrong answer passes the turn (or costs a point, if you switch that rule on).

The same rules are there in every game, to switch on or off in the settings: a timer per question (10 to 60 seconds), steal (another team can answer a missed question), double and triple questions, hidden scores, and seasonal looks for Lunar New Year, the winter holidays and Halloween.

## Any subject, or English

Sixteen of the games work with any subject: English, math, science, history and geography, reading and writing. Subject questions can be multiple choice, true or false, or open questions you judge yourself. Four games are made for English: [Balloon Words](https://olyclass.com/classroom-games/balloon-words/) (spelling), [Picture Dice](https://olyclass.com/classroom-games/picture-dice/) (speaking), [Listen and Touch](https://olyclass.com/classroom-games/listen-and-touch/) and [Pop the Word](https://olyclass.com/classroom-games/pop-the-word/) (listening).

For English sets, every word becomes several kinds of question: name the picture, pick the word you hear, spell it, find the English word for a meaning, or say the words of a sentence in the right order.

## Questions teachers ask

### Are these classroom games free?
Yes. You can play every game for free, with the library's ready-made sets or questions you type yourself. The Free plan also makes 10 question sets a month with AI. Oly Pro adds more AI sets, up to 8 teams and more saved games.

### Do students need phones, tablets or accounts?
No. The class plays on one screen: a projector, a TV or an interactive whiteboard. Only the teacher uses a phone, as the remote, and even that is optional because the keyboard works too.

### How many students can play?
A whole class. Students play in 2 to 4 teams (up to 8 with Pro), so a class of 40 works as well as a class of 12. Rotate who answers for the team so everyone gets a turn.

### Can I use my own questions?
Yes. Type or paste your own questions and answers, snap a page from your textbook, or paste a word list. Every game plays with the same set, so you can switch games without changing the questions.

### Which game should I start with?
Tile Grab or Lucky Wheel: the rules take ten seconds to explain. Once the class knows how the remote and teams work, try Team Bingo or Three in a Row.
