Do students need devices?

No. Oly runs on one screen: a projector, a TV or an interactive display. Teams answer out loud, and you mark answers on the screen or from your phone.

What can I make questions from?

A photo of a textbook page, a list of words, or just a topic like “animals” or “weather”. Oly picks the words, finds a picture for each, and writes example sentences. You can edit everything before you play.

Do you keep my textbook photos?

No. Oly doesn’t keep your photo; it is sent to our AI provider only to read the words. Games you make are private to you.

Does it work on a touch screen?

Yes. Students can come up and tap answers, tiles and pictures. Your phone can still be the remote, so you can see the answer before the class does.

Does it work for other subjects?

Yes. Pick Math, Science, History, Reading or any other subject, then snap a page, type a topic or paste your own questions. Oly writes multiple choice, true or false and open questions in English or Vietnamese. 11 games work with any subject; 4 are made for English practice.

Which languages does the app speak?

For English lessons the game screen is always in English, because that is what your students are learning. For other subjects it can be in English or Vietnamese. The teacher side is in English and Vietnamese.

Oly is a tool for teachers. Students never sign in and never use a device, so Oly collects nothing from them. This page explains, in plain words, what we keep about teachers, why, and for how long.

Who we are

Oly (olyclass.com) is made by Groowing Co., Ltd., a company in Vietnam (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the data described here. Questions about privacy go to support@olyclass.com.

Students

Oly is for teachers, who are adults. Students do not create accounts, sign in or use their own devices. The whole class plays on one shared screen.
The class roster (student names you type for picking players or teams) stays only on your device. It is never sent to our servers.
Team names and scores are saved with your game results when you are signed in. Please use first names, nicknames or fun team names, not full student names.

What we keep about signed-in teachers

Your Google profile: your name, email address and profile picture, which Google shares when you choose Sign in with Google. We use them to run your account and to show you who is signed in.
What you make in Oly: your question sets (including pictures and sounds you add), your game results (team names and scores, and which questions were missed) and your settings.
A session cookie called oly_session, which keeps you signed in. It is essential for the service. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
AI use counts: how many AI question sets you made this month. Before you sign in, we count free AI use by a hashed (scrambled, one-way) version of your IP address, not the address itself.
Billing status: if you buy Oly Pro, we keep your plan, its status and renewal date, and the customer number our payment provider gives us. We never see or store your card details.
Error reports: when the app runs into an error, it sends us a short technical report (the error message and the page address) so we can fix it.

Without an account, your games stay in your browser on that device. Nothing is sent to us except the requests needed to make a question set or run a game room.

Photos of textbook pages

When you make a game from a photo, the photo is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, only so it can read the words and write the questions. Oly does not store the photo. The words and questions you get back are saved in your game like anything else you make.

Why we use your data

To provide Oly: keep your account, save and sync your games, and make question sets with AI.
To enforce plan limits and prevent abuse of the free AI allowance.
To take payments for Oly Pro and answer billing questions.
To keep the service working and secure, and to fix bugs.

We do this because it is needed to provide the service you asked for (our contract with you), and for our legitimate interest in keeping Oly secure and working. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use your content to train AI models.

Who helps us run Oly

These companies process data for us, only to provide their part of the service:

Cloudflare: hosting, game rooms and our database.
Anthropic: the AI that reads photos and word lists and writes questions.
Google: Sign in with Google.
Polar: payments, tax and receipts. Polar is the merchant of record for Oly Pro, so it handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.

These providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. We rely on their contractual safeguards for those transfers.

Read-aloud uses the voices built into your browser or device, so that text is handled by your browser, not by us.

How long we keep it

Account data, games, results and settings: until you delete them or delete your account.
Deleting your account removes your games, results, settings and sessions from our servers right away.
Hashed IP counters for free AI use: about two months.
Billing records: kept by Polar as tax law requires.

Your rights and choices

See and get a copy: everything you make is in the app under My games. On your Account page, Download your data gives you everything we keep for your account as one JSON file; you can also write to support@olyclass.com.
Correct: edit your games any time, and change the name shown in Oly on your Account page. Your email and picture come from your Google account.
Delete: choose Delete account on your Account page, or write to us. An Oly Pro subscription is cancelled at the same time.
Object or complain: write to support@olyclass.com. You can also contact your local data protection authority.

Children

Oly is not meant for children to use directly and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children, including under COPPA in the United States and the GDPR rules for children in Europe. Teachers run Oly; students only watch the shared screen and answer out loud. If you think a child has given us personal data, write to support@olyclass.com and we will delete it.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to our systems is limited to the people who run Oly. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell affected teachers if a breach puts their data at risk.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. For important changes we will tell signed-in teachers in the app or by email before they take effect.
