Coin flip for the classroom
Flip a big, shiny coin on the class screen: heads or tails, fair every time. Settle who goes first, pick between two choices or play a quick guessing game with the whole class.
Heads 0Tails 0
How to use it
- Press Flip (or the space bar).
- The coin spins in the air and lands on heads or tails.
- The score of heads and tails so far is counted below, for probability lessons.
Ways to use it in class
- Who goes first: team A calls heads, team B calls tails.
- Guessing game: everyone stands up and puts a hand on their head (heads) or on their hips (tails); wrong guesses sit down.
- Probability in maths: flip 20 times and compare heads and tails.
- Choose between two activities when the class can’t agree.
Questions teachers ask
Is the coin flip fair?
Yes. Heads and tails each have a one-in-two chance, picked by the browser’s random numbers.
Can I count the results?
Yes. The heads and tails so far are counted under the coin; Reset starts again.
Does it work on a projector?
Yes. The coin is big enough to see from the back of the room.
