Random team maker
Split your class into random teams in one tap. Choose how many teams, and Oly shares the students out fairly, each team in its own colour on the big screen. Shuffle again until you are happy, then play a game.
Team 1
Team 2
Add at least two names.
How to use it
- Type or paste the names, one per line, or choose a class you made in Oly.
- Choose how many teams, from 2 to 8.
- Press Make teams. Shuffle again if you like, then play a game with them.
Ways to use it in class
- Team games and quizzes: fair, mixed teams in seconds, with no picking last.
- Group projects and discussions: new groups every week, so students work with everyone.
- Pair work: choose half as many teams as students for random partners.
- PE and outdoor games: show the teams on a phone or the classroom screen before going out.
Questions teachers ask
How does the team maker share students out?
It shuffles the names and deals them out like cards, so teams differ by at most one person.
Can I make pairs?
Yes. Choose half as many teams as there are students, and every team is a pair (one trio if the class is odd).
Are the names sent anywhere?
No. The names stay in this browser on this computer.
Can I play a game with the teams?
Yes. Oly’s classroom games are played in teams on the same screen: make the teams here, then open a game from the library.
Now play a game with your class
Oly turns any lesson into a team game on the same screen, with your phone as the remote. Free to start.
