Random number generator for the classroom
Pick a random number between any two numbers, shown big on the class screen. Use it for numbered students, questions or groups, and switch on No repeats so every number comes up once.
?
How to use it
- Set the lowest and the highest number, for example 1 and 30.
- Press Pick (or the space bar). The numbers roll and stop on one.
- With No repeats on, each number comes up only once until all have been picked.
Ways to use it in class
- Give every student a number, then pick who answers next.
- Number your questions or worksheet tasks and let the generator choose.
- Maths warm-ups: pick two numbers and ask the class to add, compare or round them.
- Bingo with numbers: call them out with No repeats on.
Questions teachers ask
Is it really random?
Yes. Every number in the range has the same chance, picked by the browser’s random numbers.
What range can I use?
