Classroom timer with music
A big, colourful countdown for the classroom screen. Pick 1, 2, 5 or 10 minutes, add calm or bouncy background music, and a cheerful sound tells the class when time is up.
5:00
How to use it
- Tap a time, or use + and − to set your own, up to 99 minutes.
- Choose the music: calm for quiet work, bouncy for tidy-up, or none.
- Press Start (or the space bar) and full screen. The ring turns yellow, then red, as time runs out.
Ways to use it in class
- Five quiet minutes of reading or writing, with calm music in the background.
- Tidy-up races: put on bouncy music and see if the class beats two minutes.
- Pair work and group tasks, so every group sees how long is left without asking.
- Think time before answers: give the whole class 30 seconds to think before anyone speaks.
- Brain breaks: one minute of stretching or dancing, then back to work when the music stops.
Questions teachers ask
Is there a 5 minute timer with music for the classroom?
Yes. Tap 5 min, pick a music style and press Start. The music plays until time is up, then a sound tells the class.
Can I set my own time?
Yes. Use +1 min and −1 min after picking a time, from 10 seconds up to 99 minutes.
Does the music need the internet?
No files are downloaded: Oly makes the music in your browser, so it starts at once even on slow school Wi-Fi.
Can I use it with the keyboard?
Space starts and pauses, R resets and F goes full screen.
Does it work on a projector or an interactive whiteboard?
Yes. It runs in any browser and the numbers fill the screen, so the back row can read them.
Now play a game with your class
Oly turns any lesson into a team game on the same screen, with your phone as the remote. Free to start.
